Mey Eden provides water to soldiers in Operation Protective Edge, donates school supplies and bottled water to needy children
Leading mineral water company Mey Eden has lately been cooperating with the major charitable organization Chasdei Naomi on a number of highly beneficial projects.
As part of this cooperation Mey Eden donated several pallets of bottled water during Operation Protective Edge; the bottles were distributed to soldiers in staging areas and were greatly appreciated by them.
As the start of the school year approached, Mey Eden decided to undertake an additional donation of 5,000 bottles of water as well as thousands of other items – erasers, pens and pencils, etc. – to needy children.
Over the past few weeks hundreds of volunteers have come to Chasdei Naomi’s logistical center in Tel Aviv to pack thousands of school bags with necessary supplies – notebooks, pencil cases, writing implements and, as noted, the water bottles and school-related items donated by Mey Eden.
Ofer Meshulam, Mey Eden’s Deputy CEO for Marketing, said that this worthwhile cooperative initiative is in line with Mey Eden’s values, which emphasize giving to those who are in need. Meshulam thanked Chasdei Naomi for its cooperation and for the devotion with which it strives throughout the year to help the needy. “It is our intention to continue the cooperative activity and even to participate in the volunteer drive to prepare holiday packages for people in need.”
Rabbi Yosef Cohen, Chair of Chasdei Naomi, thanked Mey Eden for its contribution and cooperation. “I would like to see more and more Israeli companies join this valuable initiative of donating in advance of the High Holidays, the start of the school year, and at all other times. There are many families in desperate need of any kind of assistance, and we are trying to help them all.”
