As the month of Elul begins and Rosh Hashanah approaches, many are preparing to celebrate the new year with a festive meal and the entire family, filled with excitement. However, this year too, many are unable to host a proper celebration and meal.
The Chasdei Naomi organization is currently operating the Rosh Hashanah food basket project for the year. The project’s goal is to turn this special holiday into a moment of joy for everyone, especially Holocaust survivors, the elderly, and families in need.
A Happy New Year Campaign for Holocaust Survivors, The elderly, and Low-Income Families
The project is designed to provide assistance to needy families, Holocaust survivors, and the elderly who struggle to purchase food on a daily basis and particularly during the holiday. The project’s aim is to ensure that Holocaust survivors, the elderly, and impoverished families can celebrate the holiday around a well-set and dignified table, rather than alone around an empty one. The organization aspires to distribute thousands of food baskets that will turn Rosh Hashanah into a joyous and exciting experience for them
Chasdei Naomi’s Rosh Hashanah food baskets are specially designed and tailored for the holiday. Each basket contains basic groceries along with products symbolizing the holiday. Among the products in the baskets, one can find holiday foods such as honey, dates, honey cakes, grape juice for Kiddush, along with staples like rice, oil, sugar, chickpeas, various canned goods, flour, and more. In addition to dry goods, the organization’s beneficiaries also receive a large variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, enabling the preparation of a tasty and nutritious holiday meal.
The organization purchases large quantities of products, which volunteers diligently pack in the logistics warehouse. Each basket is carefully packed, ensuring proper arrangement of products to prevent damage. Chasdei Naomi insists on high quality products, just as anyone would choose for themselves when shopping at a supermarket
Your Way to Support the Rosh Hashanah Project
Donating for Rosh Hashanah
All the groceries that Chasdei Naomi distributes are purchased thanks to donation funds and the great support received from the public. In order for Chasdei Naomi to assist as many people as possible this year as well, public support is needed.
You can make a monetary donation to the Rosh Hashanah 5785 project. Every donation, even the smallest, allows for the purchase of additional groceries and assistance to more Holocaust survivors, the elderly, and struggling families. To donate, click here
Timely Volunteering for Rosh Hashanah
The organization’s food baskets are packed by volunteers before distribution, so you can volunteer at Chasdei Naomi’s logistics warehouse in Tel Aviv. The logistics warehouse warmly welcomes volunteers who come to pack holiday food baskets.
Volunteering is possible for organized groups only, such as families, friends, or work colleagues. To coordinate a volunteering day for a group, call the volunteer coordinator at 052-7884477 or click here to volunteer
