There are about 800,000 children in Israel who are hungry for bread. Children who go to sleep on an empty stomach and babies who are hungry for food to ease their little stomachs. It is hard to describe the enormous pain a mother suffers as she has to apologize to her little child why she can’t give him food.
These children are sometimes forced to eat a dairy meal even on a Friday night, because their mother has no money to buy meat. They don’t even dare to ask for a candy like any other little child, and toys are only something they can dream about.
“Hasdei Naomi” takes care of these children and sends their families a box of basic products, such as canned goods, oil, vegetables, bread, laundry powder and sweets for the children. Dozens of products are being sent every month to more than 10000 families. The value of one box is about 500 NIS.
