Tens of Thousands of Dairy Products were Distributed to Families Ahead of the Shavuot Festival
Rabbi Joseph Cohen: The campaign was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Jewish people
Ahead of the festival of Shavuot preparations were completed by Hasdei Naomi for its major campaign of distributing dairy and other grocery products that would help thousands of needy people celebrate the holiday.
Rabbi Joseph Cohen relates that special divine assistance came to the rescue once again:
“Several days before the holiday we still had no idea how we would finance the special distribution for the Shavuot festival, but as always, God intervened in no time at all. We received a telephone call informing us of a donation of 200,000 eggs from one of Israel’s major distributors, and later on we received calls from other good-hearted Jews who were able to help somewhat with the high costs of the dairy products.
“Many families mention that when they purchase dairy products and other delicacies for the holiday they feel that their joy cannot be complete without helping some other family that cannot afford such things. These donations of holiday food baskets allow us, along with the pious community at large, to take up the heavy burden so that thousands of families can put on their holiday tables cheeses and other treats that they have not been able to afford in their homes for a long time.”
