“Kan” Corporation Employees’ Children Rally for Evacuated Children Backpack Packing

Backpack Packing Initiative at the "Kan" Public Broadcasting Corporation

As part of the “Full Backpack” project by the Chesed Naomi charity, a special activity took place at the “Kan” Public Broadcasting Corporation in Jerusalem. During the summer break, children accompanied their parents to work for an important cause. The young volunteers chose to participate in the charity’s project, packing essential school supplies for children from low-income families and those evacuated from combat zones.

The Chesed Naomi team arrived at the corporation’s offices with a wide array of new school supplies. The inventory included high-quality backpacks, colorful pencil cases, subject-specific notebooks, writing utensils, and more. The employees’ children, who came voluntarily, worked diligently to pack the supplies for distribution to children in need.

The young volunteers described the experience as empowering and meaningful. One child shared, “It was incredibly moving to know that we’re helping other children going through a difficult time. We were grateful for the opportunity to contribute and assist.”

The “Full Backpack” project by Chesed Naomi operates annually before the start of the school year. Its goal is to help children from underprivileged families begin the year with all necessary supplies and a smile on their faces. This year, due to the complex situation, the project expanded to include children from evacuated families.

The wonderful young volunteers, children of “Kan” employees, helped pack hundreds of backpacks with the abundant supplies provided by Chesed Naomi. These backpacks are now being distributed to children, ensuring they too can start the year with a smile.

Kobi Barkai, a presenter at the “Kan” Broadcasting Corporation, showcased a sample backpack from the “Full Backpack” project, highlighting the initiative’s impact.

Public engagement in this special project greatly assists Chesed Naomi in bringing smiles to more children’s faces. Financial support, volunteering, and even spreading information about the project all contribute to advancing Chesed Naomi’s goal.
