Yesterday (01 April 2009), THE CHARITY ORGANIZATION “THE HASDEI NAOMI” (Mom, you promised us chicken for Shabbath), which has been working during the last 25 years around the country for the benefit of thousands of families in distress, proceeded with the Hametz Sale Ceremony at the Offices of the Chief Rabbis of Israel
At the ceremony The Chairman of “The Hasdei Naomi” Organization Rabbi Yossef Cohen told the Chief Rabbis that this year more than ever the Organization stands at a difficult and complicated road junction, since on the one hand the requests for help are getting everyday more and more numerous and on the other hand, there is a severe drop in donations.
Rabbi Cohen added: “The Hasdei Naomi” supplies every week around the country about 300 tons of various foodstuffs to thousands of families in distress. Towards the Passover Holidays, the quantities needed are increasing accordingly and the Organization volunteers, which counts more than 4000 women and men, do their utmost to supply all the kosher-for-Passover-food to all those, who request our help”.

Organization was requested to raise a kerchief as token of ownership to transfer his authority to that of the Chief Rabbis to sell to a gentile all the Organization storerooms containing hametz so that after the holidays they may distribute it to the needy families.
At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Rabbis held a special blessing for all the donors and those helping “The Hasdei Naomi” Organization, the Rabbis also expressed heaps of warm blessings on the volunteers, the operatives and on the management of “The Hasdei Naomi” Organization
