AS IN THE PAST YEARS, “THE HASDEI NAOMI” VOLUNTEERS HAVE ORGANIZED HANUKKAH PARTIES FOR THE THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN IN THE WARDS OF HOSPITALS AROUND THE COUNTRY.
The Charity Project “HANUKKEIF” [Hanukkah Fun] gave thousands of children, in the wards of hospitals, a smile of joy on their tormented faces and the chance to leave aside their sickness beds for a few hours. And this, during Hanukkah parties organized by the “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION volunteers, which rotated between the wards of hospitals all around the country.
Every evening during the week of Hanukkah, the volunteers went to the children wards of hospitals and organized touching parties and festive lightings of the traditional candles. The hospitalized children took an active part in these together with members of their families, members of medical teams, leading members of the Organization, guests and public personalities. These activities, which brought
renewed hope to the soft hearts full of pain, covered the following hospitals: Tel Hashomer in Ramat Gan, Assaf Harofe, Mayane Hayeshuah in Bnei Brak, Sha’arei Zedek and Bikkur Holim both in Jerusalem, Lanyado in Natanya, Hillel Yaffe in Hadera, Meir in Kfar Saba, Wolfson in Holon, and Soroka in Beer Sheba. During long hours, the volunteers went through all the Hospitals wards accompanied by giant dolls, magicians and clowns. This merry
band made sure to bring happiness to the kids, offering them prizes and sweeties, in order to relieve even if only for a short while the cloud of sadness from their eyes and break off for a moment the daily routine of painful treatments. After the round, the volunteers organized a main party in the children wards.
No eye was left dry in the attending public, when one after the other the children, supported by members of the medical team, touchingly lit the Holiday Candles. The volunteers happily amused the children to the sound of a merry band, with the participation of Rabbis and public personalities, who encouraged and infused strength in the children, and prayed: May G-d always give them to see light and salvation. Later in the evening, the children took part in different programs accompanied by artists, and enjoyed various food stands and received a large amount of prizes. At the end of the day, each child received a respectable case of sweets and a personal present.
The Chairman of “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION, Rabbi Yossef Cohen said: “This blessed activity is the fruit of the “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION volunteers’ initiative, who do work very hard all around the year for the benefit of the needy families. They harnessed their spirit and desire to bring the joy of this Holiday and bring the light of hope to those soft hearts, which are in dire need of that more than anything else.”
